Bio

Ashleigh Ramel is an upcoming London-based British/French photographer shooting predominantly on analogue, who specialises in her documentation of the music, street and fashion scenes.

She is currently assisting portrait and fashion photographer Alexandra Leese while developing her client base. She's has had the pleasure of working with a diverse range of clients, including those in the music and fashion industries.​ As well, she is currently documenting her own personal project which involves photographing basketball women in London and the importance of giving these women a platform to speak on issues surrounding women’s basketball.

Ashleigh was selected to participate in a project run by Dazed+Labs & Converse, 'Photographer Eddie Otchere and Dazed's Arts & Photography editor Ashleigh Kane. After 10 weeks, The Rugby Portobello Trust played host to their exhibitions and nicely won second place in the WAC Awards in 2020 and has been featured in 'Off the Block Magazine'.

Ashleigh was the first alumnus of ACAVA's Young Photographers Programme. Working collectively for four years with Zute Lightfoot to document Grenfell Memorial Community Mosaic and the wider community after the tragic Grenfell Tower fire.

This has built Ashleigh's confidence and given her a platform to express her passion for telling authentic stories and connecting with her subjects. She's also a member of the ACAVA Shoots team with completing multiple photography assignments for Young Kensington & Chelsea, ACAVA, Young Camden as well as assisting on assignments for The Local Trust.
